Winter sports alternatives away from the ski slopes

Winter hiking

Just go for a walk and enjoy the winter. To make this even easier, the mountain railways offer a sun card for winter lovers without ski equipment.

Snowshoe hike 

Snowshoe hiking in powder snow is an experience in itself. You can get information and advice on site at the Hotel Oberschwarzach.

Tobogganing and bobsledding

No matter what device or age you are, whizzing down a snowy hill is always fun.

Snow tubing

If you don't want to go skiing in the evening after a long day on the slopes, you should try the illuminated snow tubing run instead - also right next to our hotel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

Horse-drawn carriage ride to the end of the valley

In winter you can take the scenic route to the end of the valley in a horse-drawn carriage. Once there, the Baumzipfelweg and the Lindlingalm are open for you.

Ice skating and curling

At the sports center in Hinterglemm, near our hotel, you will find an ice skating rink and a curling rink - including equipment rental.

Fun and Action

If you want to try something new or fulfill a long-cherished childhood dream, you can try paragliding, Skidoo and snow groomer driving, snow tubing, archery or Glemmy Offroad snow quad driving.

Riding in winter

Our horses and ponies love winter! Pony rides for the kids, riding lessons in our large riding arena or a guided pony hike through the snowy landscape are guaranteed to be great experiences. Experienced riders aged 6 and over can book a guided ride in the picturesque landscape around Saalbach-Hinterglemm after a riding lesson in the riding arena.
